STVILLA is a British brand which can date back to the year of 1842. William H Bonney, the founder of STVILLA, was once a soldier. In order to make a living after retiring from army, he opened a small family workshop in London to make furniture. The workshop finally went out of business after running for over ten years because of its owner’s poor health。 Several decades later, the last batch of handmade furniture craftsmen in Britain all closed their business, which put an end to the traditional handmade furniture making in England。

In 1999, James H Bonney, one of William’s descendants, witnessed a miracle – the wood furniture and deck of the remains of Titanic which was submerged under sea for nearly a hundred years are in perfect condition after they were salvaged for the first time. This aroused James’s great interest. After investigation, he found that the wood furniture was made of teak, the same material his ancestral furniture is made of. Afterwards, he established STVILLA Furniture Group Co., Ltd and initiated the great rejuvenation of STVILLA brand.
STVILLA brand made profits mainly by antique furniture in the beginning, but gradually shifts its focus to European furniture replicas along with diminishing antique furniture. In order to look for more teak woods and make better products, James visited Southeast Asian countries and finally found the products left over by British craftsmen back then in Java, Indonesia where William once served in the army, and followed the clues to find the British hand carving craftsmanship that has been lost for a long time.
Since Indonesia prohibits the export of teak logs, James established a new factory in the local place to start making antique European furniture. In 2010, Yan Hao, President of Guangzhou Saiya Trading Company Ltd came to Indonesia to look for resources and was introduced to James. They decided to expand the last huge market in the world – the Chinese market after simple discussion. In March 2010, the first Chinese flagship store of STVILLA opened for business in Changsha City, Hunan Province, which commenced the market expansion of STVILLA brand in China!
In 2013, STVILLA brand entered and got stationed in the capital of China’s economy – Shanghai by opening a Chinese flagship store in the fourth floor of Shanghai Yuexing International Home Life Museum which is known as Harold in China’s furniture industry, which officially declared STVILLA’s ambition to march into the high-end villa and mansion markets and build itself into a world-class brand of luxury furniture. At present, the furniture of STVILLA brand is being sold in many large cities in China, which include Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changsha, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi and Nanjing. Consumers can obtain a ten-year warranty and life-long maintenance.
